2x Spartan Ultra Beast Finisher

I was born and raised in LA for over 25 years before I made the move to Temecula and was fortunate to meet so many wonderful people along the way. What’s amazing is that even though some of them were only in my life for a short season, the impact they left me with was “priceless”.

When I was training in high school for the 100m in Track and Field, I asked my high school pastor, Pastor Walter for help…and he wrote me this lengthy workout regiment, which I thought was intense, wonderful, and ridiculous at the same time!! Now, remember, I’m only training for 100m, that’s 1/4 of a round track!! So, besides the 500 pushups and 500 sit-ups that had to be done daily, lifting weights 3x a week, practicing technique in/out of the starting blocks, the item that rubbed me the wrong way the most was that I had to run 4 miles, 4x a week. That’s 16 laps around the high school track!! So I asked him about it, and he said, “Either do it or don’t do it, your choice. Remember, you asked me.” He was known to have taken many athletes to the state level, so I’d say his credentials were top notched.

So, lo and behold, I continued on for the season, following through on the regiment he had recommended and I obtained some wonderful accolades for my race!! I had broken the high school record at the time, which still stands today, and was looking forward to going to state to race!! When I lost at CIF finals to some incredibly fast dudes, I was satisfied with the fact that there was nothing more I could have done to have beaten those guys. They were taller, stronger, faster, more muscular, etc., which means I brought my best and I was good with that!!

Here’s the kicker with the entire process, which I need you to understand the depth of this website and video series. When I asked Pastor Walter what was the deal with the 4 mile 4x a week regiment, he responded: “It was never about the 4 miles 4x a week. It was about whether or not YOU had the mental fortitude to be a champion…to THINK like a champion, to OVERCOME YOUR FEARS AND COMPLAINTS, to PAY THE PRICE as a champion, to MAN UP TO YOURSELF, to BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE, and leave everything else on the track, that there was nothing more you could have done. That’s why I had you run 4 miles 4x a week. Did it work??? Did you accomplish everything you could have for this race???” My answer was: “YES!!!”

This story carries a huge learning Life Lesson…will YOU put in the diligence and hard work and press on to be BETTER than you were today??? Will you DECIDE to get stronger, if that’s what YOU need??? Will you COMMITT to eating better, if that’s what YOU need to do??? Will you CELEBRATE your results with excitement??? or regret??? Remember, it’s all about YOU. Do it right, people benefit. Don’t do it right, people benefit, you figure it out!! YOUR CLIENTS are eagerly waiting to see what YOU’RE going to do…

That’s my vision:  FOR YOU TO  BECOME A BETTER YOU, which allows you to be a better Husband/Wife, better Doctor, better Friend, better in Business, better Trader, better Parent, better Mentor, better Athlete, etc. the list goes on and on…Just Be Better at Be-ing You, and the rest will follow =)

I am happily married to my beautiful wife for over 19 years, have 4 wonderful children, love to run, train, golf, volleyball, obstacle course racing, cook and eat great food, etc. I happen to also be a chiropractor, instructor, coach, trader, chef, brother, friend, etc. =)
